About Wander Wildly
“It’s opener there in the wide open air.” — Oh the Places You’ll Go by Dr. Seuss
Wander Wildly was created to further a connection with the natural world by wandering to find our wild roots. Through movement, breath, mindfulness, and food, we hope to inspire others and bring awareness to the powerful connection we all have with the earth we live on. Based in the beautiful Hudson Valley, our year-round program includes yoga hikes, forest immersion, and guided hikes to explore the Catskills. We can also create a unique experience that suits your needs.
Jess Spivey is a yoga teacher, outdoor guide, and founder of Wander Wildly. She completed her 200-hour teacher training at the Yoga Center of Minneapolis and studied with the Kripalu School of Mindful Outdoor Leadership to become a certified Mindful Outdoor Guide. In 2020, she completed the Ultra Saranc 6er hiking challenge and is almost finished climbing all 35 Catskill High Peaks. A devoted Ashtangi in her personal yoga practice, she has studied with many teachers such as David Swenson, Tim Feldman, and Jason Crandell. Jess is currently studying Health-Supportive Culinary Arts at the Institute of Culinary Education and is available for private hikes, private yoga classes, and retreats.

“The Lakota was wise. He knew that man’s heart, away from nature, becomes hard; he knew that a lack of respect for growing, living things soon led to a lack of respect for humans, too.”
— Luther Standing Bear
